good-bye maternity leave.

Well. That went fast. I started work on Thursday. I had 432 e-mails. And it was surprisingly, not so bad for such a long time being away from my little peanut. Unfortunately for Grandma, my little angel wasn't so angelic for her first day of babysitting... She's been struggling to take the bottle lately and she wasn't having it on Thursday, however my blessed mother did manage to get two ounces in that cute little belly.
Friday morning was a lot better. She was all smiles and funny faces and kicks and hiccups.
This weekend, we had her all to ourselves, and we snuggled that little delicious baby like no other. ;)
(These are pictures from the last month or so, but I've been playing with Adobe Lightroom lately so I had to share...)

new season.

Last Christmas (9 months ago), we came to a fun house on a cul-de-sac in Neenah for a Christmas party. At that party, we announced that we were having a baby in July... 9 months later, we are living in that house...with our baby girl. Talk about God having a plan for us that we would never have suspected!
As many of you know, Brenton and I are working on our second year of marriage and we have been through all kinds of surprises bringing excitement, anxiety, tears, and lots of change! The latest big change began on August 30th, when we moved into this house, which we are renting for the next two years. The Lord basically dropped this surprising opportunity and blessing into our laps, but since we are renting from our friends, we are sad to see them travel to Iowa. At the same time, we're so thankful for this sweet time in our lives to "play house" and enjoy some luxuries that we would normally be missing out on.
One thing that has crossed my mind, (as I was prancing around the new living space, decorating and re-decorating until my heart was content), is the fear that there is always the possibility that we will have to revert back to apartment life after this time has passed. The Lord may have us here today, but that doesn't come with any promises for our future. It's nice to imagine us in a house of our own someday, but we have no control over when that will happen. So for now, this is a blessing until approximately September 2014. After that..... who knows where we'll be!! And the journey continues... Thank God for the unknown, for the excitement of what lies ahead, and for His plans for us which are far better than anything we could imagine.
